The Fishful Thinkers

The Fishful Future initiative developed as an outcome of a 2020 funding award from the competitive NOAA Saltonstall-Kennedy Grant Program in an investigation of alternative business avenues for seafood co-products from San Diego’s small and midsize fish processors. The 2020 grant was awarded to Catalina Offshore Products and the partners listed under “2020 - 2021,” representing a “Phase 1” team and workplan.

Fishful Future resumes activities today under a “Phase 2” mission to support San Diego consumer familiarity and access to locally-landed seafood through a digital media campaign, funded by a 2023 funding award from NOAA Saltonstall-Kennedy.
