Oriana Poindexter is a San Diego, CA based photographer and marine scientist focused on the intersection of art, science, and marine natural resources. She earned a B.A. at Princeton University and an M.A.S. at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego. Poindexter went on to work for nearly a decade with academic institutions, government agencies, and environmental organizations as an expert in the sustainable seafood and fisheries management arenas, including as a Co-Principal Investigator for the first iteration of Fishful Future (see Press Release for Fishful Future Phase 1). Her work has been featured by Smithsonian Magazine and The Wall Street Journal, and she has created interpretive visual exhibits for the Aquarium of the Pacific, Birch Aquarium at UC San Diego and Cabrillo Marine Aquarium.
